Cayman Islands

Nestled in the turquoise waters of the western Caribbean lies the peaceful British Overseas Territory known as the Cayman Islands. Made up of three islands - Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman – their total area is only 100 square miles. Grand Cayman is the largest and most popular with holidaymakers and that’s not surprising when you consider the fabulous beaches on offer. Most well known is Seven Mile Beach, where there are activities, watersports and facilities galore as well as a wide range of hotels. Try Spotts Beach, which is surrounded by cliffs and a barrier reef if you want to get away from the crowds or Cemetery Beach for superb snorkelling.

Cayman is renowned for its fabulous dive sites, with one of the world’s best to be found at the Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park on Little Cayman. But, if you’re not a diver, you won’t need to miss out; some of the better reefs and several wrecks are located in shallow water, so snorkellers can enjoy some great underwater sights. Grand Cayman is a prosperous island with luxuriant green vegetation and a very English feel - they even drive on the left.
