The Cameron Highlands are part of the ‘real Malaysia’ and were named after William Cameron, who discovered this beautiful area of gentle slopes and lofty mountains in 1885. The Chinese realised that the high altitude was ideal for cultivation and began farming the valley floors, where tea became one of its most prized crops. An intriguing side trip into colonial times and not to be missed.
Day 1 KL or Penang/Cameron Highlands: Take a scenic journey to the Cameron Highlands, some 3 hours 30 minutes drive from KL or 4 hours from Penang. One of the wonders of Malaysia, Cameron Highlands is the largest and most famous hill resort in Malaysia and retains much of the charm of an English village.
Day 2 Cameron Highlands: A tour is included which visits the local farms, flower and rose gardens and a tea plantation. Be sure to try the Cameron Highlands tea - a cross between Earl Grey, Camomile and breakfast tea. For a taste of home, why not enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace of The Lakehouse?
Day 3 Cameron Highlands/KL or Penang: Enjoy the breathtaking scenery before your return journey to KL or Penang.
