The stunning scenery of Guernsey will leave you wanting to spend as much time as possible outside to soak up the views. The island has a wide range of activities both on land and in the water to help you make your most of the time on the island.
With the sun shining and brilliant cycle paths to take, exploring Guernsey by bike is fantastic option. You’ll find beautiful coastal paths with stunning views on every turn as well as peaceful country lanes to be alone with your thoughts.
There are 11 official cycle routes on the island suitable for various abilities and cycling levels. From the ‘Peninsular and Pasture ride’, starting with spectacular sea views at the tip of Jerbourg Peninsula with challenging climbs, to ‘Top of the Island ride’, a short easy ride perfect for a summer’s evening - there’s a path for all abilities.
The west coast is the perfect place to start a walk on the island. Feel the sand between your toes as you begin and keep an eye out for birds, including rare species such as Aquatic Warblers.
Get up early on the east coast and head off on your walk from St Peter Port, the ideal place to see the sunrise over the smaller islands before you begin.

Island hopping – Herm
Guernsey is very close to Herm Island and with regular ferry links and a journey time of just 20 minutes, it is easy to visit. On your journey, you may be able to spot dolphins or seals in the water.
Alongside the amazing scenery, there is wonderful wildlife to spot too. Why not try a Puffin Patrol? Accompanied by a puffin watcher who knows the movements and routines of the puffins, you can go to Puffin Bay to see the island’s interesting residents up close.
Island hopping – Sark
Sark is a wonderful destination to relax and enjoy the beauty of the island. With no cars on Sark, visiting the island is like stepping back in time in the best way with a relaxed way of life.
Follow lanes around the island and find cliff paths with breath taking views around every corner. Spend some time on the spectacular coastline, exploring sandy bays or pebble coves. Alternatively, see the island by sea with a boat trip or rent a bike to explore.
Sark’s wonderfully clear skies mean it’s the perfect place for stargazing – look out for shooting stars and amazing views of the milky way above your head on the dark evenings.
