Speaking of going green, it may come as some surprise to learn that over 70% of Hong Kong is green space and hiking the many trails amidst the great outdoors is a fabulous way to explore. There are also numerous fascinating self-guided walks which have been mapped out in Hong Kong to help bring the city to life for curious visitors, with Old Town Central a perfect starting point.
Visiting Hong Kong’s myriad of outlying islands to explore the city’s wild side is another must. As you step out amongst the verdant hills, scattered beaches, quaint villages and undulating mountain paths the urban jungle seems a world away, yet you can often still catch a glimpse of that picture-postcard skyline.
Other notable experiences include a ride aboard the Star Ferry to catch the dual-harbour views, testing your bargaining skills at the city’s street markets, devouring some dim sum, strolling Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade or, perhaps spending the day releasing your inner child at Hong Kong Disneyland.
