This year marked the 80th Anniversary of Liberation in the Channel Islands, after being occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. The Channel Islands played a strategic part in holding the Atlantic Wall for the Germans, and daily life for islanders had forever changed with members of their military arriving for respite and recovery. There are few better ways to view the centuries old castles (some partly dismantled or altered to reinforce defences), towers and fortifications erected as part of this wall, than from the air.
