The facts:

Getting there: The flying time from the UK to Vancouver is about 9 hours. There are no flights from the UK to Vancouver Island. From Vancouver, you can take a scenic ferry which takes around 90 minutes. Alternatively float planes take 35 minutes.

Best time to travel: Warmed by Pacific Ocean currents and protected by a range of mountains, Vancouver’s weather is mild year round. With maximum temperatures hovering around the low 20’sºC in summer to a mild 0-5ºC in winter, the climate is always hospitable. The winters are wet, but it rarely snows, except on the local ski hills.
