The cooler, drier months from May to September, are the best time to visit, with pleasantly warm weather, reduced humidity and temperatures around 26ºC. The wet season, from December to April, brings heavy frequent downpours and temperatures between 27-33ºC and high humidity.
The Daintree National Park is a 2-hour drive north from Cairns, and an hour from Port Douglas. Cape Tribulation is 1.5 hours' drive from Port Douglas via the car ferry across the Daintree River.
