Discover Tropical North Queensland with a stay in Port Douglas and Palm Cove, two idyllic coastal destinations near the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Port Douglas combines village charm with palm fringed Four Mile Beach, luxury resorts, and unforgettable adventures. Cruise the Great Barrier Reef, snorkel around the Low Isles, explore Mossman Gorge or join an Indigenous Dreamtime Walk in the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Macrossan Street offers boutique shopping, art galleries, cafés, and award-winning restaurants, while Port Douglas Marina is the gateway to reef and island excursions.
This area experiences two distinct weather seasons, a winter period of warm temperatures and low rainfall, and a summer season of balmy temperatures and high rainfall. Winter starts in May and finishes in October offering sunshine, fresh breezes and relatively low humidity. Summer extends from November to April and refreshes the region with tropical downpours, often in the afternoon, and temperatures of around 30ºC.
