Our suggested itinerary is a starting point
We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements
Day 1 Melbourne & Victoria
Set off from Melbourne for the snaking Great Ocean Road, where you'll take in the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge. Then traverse World Heritage listed rainforest, skirting untouched coastal coves, and passing through sleepy towns like Lorne and Apollo Bay. In the evening, meet fellow travellers at a welcome dinner.
Day 2 Coonawarra Wine region
Keep your eyes peeled for emus, koalas and other animals as you drive through Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, housed in a dormant volcanic crater. Across the South Australian border in Mt Gambier, see the Blue Lake whose name doesn't do it justice. Next up is the Coonawarra wine region and then Naracoorte's Alexandra Cave, a maze of delicate needle-like stalactites and massive twisting columns.
Day 3 Cape Jervis
Nature rules again today as you weave along the Fleurieu Peninsula via Victor Harbor to Cape Jervis. All aboard the ferry for your journey toward this 'mini Galapagos', with the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4 Kangaroo Island
First stop today is the aptly named Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, home to an immense colony of raucous fur seals and a very photogenic lighthouse. At Seal Bay Conservation Park, on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience you'll have a guided walk to learn about these creatures. Later, drop in to South Australia's only eucalyptus distillery before a tasting of craft beers at Kangaroo Island's only brewery.
Day 5 Adelaide
Return to the mainland and the South Australian capital, Adelaide. After a city tour, the afternoon is yours. We recommend the epic Central Market, the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere with more than 70 stalls selling artisan food and drinks.
Day 6 Adelaide
An indulgent day lies ahead as you tour Adelaide Hills and the Barossa. Highlights include Hahndorf, discovering local flavours over lunch at Lambert Estate followed by a wine or gin tasting at Maggie Beer's Pheasant Farm.
Day 7 Adelaide
The tour concludes with your onward journey.
