Day 1 Brisbane & Tropical North Queensland
Following a morning departure from Brisbane, savour lunch on board and look forward to a relaxing afternoon settling into your cabin or socialising in the lounge carriage, before arriving at the coastal town of Coffs Harbour. As the sun dips beneath the horizon, enjoy drinks and canapés on the beach at Charlesworth Bay followed by a unique outdoor dinner of local produce and fresh seafood paired with fine wines. Listen to the waves lapping at the nearby shore as the backing track for a live band playing the classics.
After a few leisurely hours, you'll reboard the train and set off for your first night on board.
Day 2 Hunter Valley, Newcastle or Port Stephens
After a hearty breakfast set off on your choice of Off Train Experience. You may choose to meander through the picturesque, historic vineyards of the Hunter Valley, for a day amongst the vines, visiting some of the region's finest wineries and enjoying generous tasting times and a platter-style lunch featuring local produce. Other options include exploring Port Stephens by land or sea.
On the land tour, you'll drive by 4WD along and into the Stockton Bight Sand Dunes, while on the sea tour, be dazzled by the turquoise water during a relaxed boat cruise where you may spot dolphins. A relaxed lunch follows either adventure, before you return to the train. Alternatively, explore the beautiful coastal city of Newcastle during a fun and insightful guided walking tour. After lunch, spend an hour at your leisure embracing everything Newcastle has to offer before returning to the train for a regionally inspired meal.
Day 3 Regional Victoria or Melbourne
Travel through Victoria's high country before today's Off Train Experiences. Dip into Victoria's excellent food and wine scene at Clyde Park, a beautiful vineyard, cellar door and bistro, where amidst the rolling hills you enjoy lunch and sample cool-climate wines. Alternatively, visit cosmopolitan Melbourne to take guided tours of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) or, Old Melbourne Gaol, whose most infamous citizen was Bushranger Ned Kelly.
Continue to Melbourne Skydeck, taking in the soaring views before dining on a beautifully curated menu showcasing local and seasonal produce. Return to the train to continue your journey south.
Day 4 Adelaide & South Australia
The journey concludes after breakfast as you arrive into Adelaide.
