Day 1 Uluru
On arrival, make your way to the front of the airport terminal for a complimentary transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before you travel around the base of Uluru in comfort with your driver guide providing commentary about the numerous sacred sites and features found here. Learn about the native flora, fauna and intriguing culture of the traditional owners, the Anangu, and discover an array of fascinating sites.
Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. In the late afternoon witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while sipping on sparkling wine.
Day 2 Talinguru Nyakunytjaku
Rise early this morning and travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the Uluru Sunrise Viewing Area, to watch the first rays of sun light up the desert as you sip a warming cup of tea or coffee. After sunrise drive on to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta stopping enroute for panoramic vistas of its southern side at a dune viewing platform.
On arrival, spend time exploring Walpa Gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations – there is a walking trail of just under a mile which follows the natural creek bed between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Later, return to the resort for some free time before setting off to absorb another magical Uluru Sunset and then returning to the resort. An optional BBQ dinner is available (at extra expense).
Day 3 Uluru
It's another early start, but well worth it, as you are taken a short distance to the exclusive Field of Light location. Arriving in complete darkness in the quiet of pre-dawn, you'll walk through the field of 50,000 globes of light at your own pace before heading up to the top of a large sand dune to the sunrise viewing area. Enjoy a warming drink as the sun starts to rise and lights up the surrounding desert, watching in awe as it pops up behind Uluru, flooding the landscape with light.
This vantage point also allows you to see both Uluru and Kata Tjuta as the desert comes to life, a sight that is sure to be etched in your mind forever. Return to your hotel and then transfer back to the airport for your onward journey.
