Kota Kinabalu, Sabah's coastal capital, charms with bustling markets, a modern boardwalk and the waterfront City Mosque. Kinabalu Park, dominated by Mount Kinabalu, dazzles with rich flora and fauna, while an escorted summit trek offers an unforgettable challenge for adventurous travellers.
With an equatorial climate, the city has high levels of humidity and rainfall. The two main wet seasons last from November to March and then again from May to September. January to March tends to be cool and dry.
There are no direct flights to Kota Kinabalu from the UK, most travel via either Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Brunei or Hong Kong, which takes approximately 16 hours.
