The coolest and most pleasant season runs from November to February, before it heats up during March to June. The rainy season tends to fun from July to October, but occasional rain can be expected from mid-April. September and October is when the most rain falls and the river can rise quite dramatically.

Cambodian Riel is the official currency, however US dollars are essential in small denominations and are often more useful than the local currency.
