Phnom Penh, at the confluence of three rivers, blends French colonial charm with vibrant city life. Highlights include the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, the National Museum's Khmer artefacts, and historic Wat Phnom in the old French Quarter. For a deeper understanding of Cambodia's tragic history, visit the sobering Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek Killing Fields. Enjoy a cooking class to learn Khmer cuisine, browse the lively riverfront, Night Market or Russian Market, then dine anywhere from street food stalls to five-star restaurants.
