Travel in comfort aboard VIA Rail to historic Kingston, where 2 nights allow time to explore its beautiful limestone architecture, waterfront and rich heritage. Continue by VIA Rail to Ottawa for 3 nights, discovering Canada’s magnificent capital, Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and its world-class museums. This is a wonderfully easy-going itinerary combining big-city experiences, historic charm and scenic rail travel.

Days 1-3 Toronto
Arrive in Toronto and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Spend three nights exploring Canada's largest city, walk around the waterfront and Harbourfront, with views across Lake Ontario and stop in downtown Toronto to experience the city's famously diverse food scene. Spot one of Canada's most recognisable landmarks: the CN Tower then stroll through the atmospheric Distillery District.
Days 4-5 Kingston
After breakfast, transfer to Toronto Union Station for your VIA Rail journey to Kingston - Canada’s historic “Limestone City”. Visit Kingston City Hall and stroll along the waterfront before enjoying dinner in the historic centre. See Fort Henry, overlooking the entrance to the St. Lawrence River, or explore one of the city's museums. Board the Heart of the Islands Cruise - included in your adventure – from Kingston into the Admiralty Islands, following the St. Lawrence River through the spectacular 1000 Islands region.
Days 6-8 Ottawa
Board VIA Rail in Business Class for the journey to Ottawa. Walk around Parliament Hill, the centrepiece of Canada's capital, and stroll down the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which runs directly through central Ottawa. Visit ByWard Market and don’t miss Major's Hill Park for excellent views of Parliament Hill and the Ottawa River.
Day 9 Ottawa
Depart Ottawa.

Visas
Canada entry requirements: For entry to Canada, you must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) prior to departure from the UK. An online application must be made at: www.Canada.ca/eta and the cost will be CAD7. The ETA, once obtained, will be valid for five years. The ETA is only required if you are arriving into Canada by air. ETAs are not required if you are arriving by land or sea. Whilst there is no requirement for your passport to be valid beyond your date of return, if you have less than 6 months validity remaining on your passport, it may take longer to pass through immigration. If you hold dual Canadian citizenship, you cannot apply for the ETA on a British passport. You must apply for a Canadian passport and enter Canada with this passport. Be aware that if you are travelling to Canada with a transit stop in the USA, you must comply with USA entry requirements (including being in possession of an e-passport and obtaining an ESTA before departure).
