Days 1-3 Toronto

Fly to Toronto. On arrival make your own way to your hotel. At leisure to explore Toronto which is home to a dynamic mix of attractions, so there's lots of ways to spend your time here. Take a stroll along the beautiful waterfront, take in the view from atop the CN Tower, visit the Royal Ontario Museum, wander through St Lawrence Market and perhaps catch a show in the Entertainment District.

Day 4 Niagara-on-the-Lake

Collect your hire car and set off for Niagara-on-the-Lake, which nestles in the corner of the Niagara region and brims with old-world charm. The flower-filled, tree-lined old town features 19th century buildings, and the region is also known for its many wineries, so why not pop into one for tasting (82 miles).

Days 5-6 Blue Mountain

Head further north into Ontario as you drive onwards to Blue Mountain, regarded as Ontario's premier four season resort (202 miles). Perhaps follow one of the many hiking trails that cross the mountain, try one of the many adrenalin-inducing experiences, or sit back on one of the sun-filled patios before browsing the shops.

Days 7-8 Manitoulin Island

Drive onwards to Tobermory where you then take a ferry across to Manitoulin Island* (290 miles land only). Nestled in the heart of the Great Lakes, Manitoulin Island is the largest freshwater island in the world. Pristine wilderness, vibrant culture and a laidback lifestyle are yours to discover. You may wish to include a visit to one of the many museums and galleries, follow a picturesque hiking trail or get out on the water.

On day 8, leave the island via the Little Current Swing Bridge and drive onwards to Sudbury, the regional capital of Northeastern Ontario and as it's surrounded by over 300 lakes, you're never far from epic water based adventures (109 miles).

Day 9 Sudbury

Today's drive takes you through some delightful natural scenery as you make your way to Huntsville, in the Muskoka region (146 miles).

Days 10-11 Huntsville

The Muskoka is one of Ontario's most cherished natural playgrounds, renowned for over 1,500 sparkling lakes and mature mixed forests as far as the eye can see. Activities include hiking and biking, there's also good food to delve into and some top-notch entertainment, so you're sure to have a fun-filled day. The next day, travel west as you head for the country's capital city, Ottawa (213 miles).

Days 12-13 Ottawa

Ottawa has evolved into one of Canada's most exciting cities without losing its small-town charm. With a walkable downtown area, great public transport, an abundance of parks, an outdoor dining and cafe culture, it's easy to see why it's one of the world's best-loved cities. Top sights include the Rideau Canal, which is an historic engineering triumph, Parliament Hill to watch the Changing of the Guard, and perhaps eat your way through Little Italy and Chinatown.

Day 14 Kingston

Travel onwards to Kingston, a walkable city where hidden alleyways contain antique markets and restaurant patios. There are dozens of museums and historical sites, so there's no shortage of things to see and do. Kingston is also the gateway to the picturesque 1000 Islands region and you'll find lots of boat trips (121 miles).

Day 15 Toronto

Return to Toronto where the tour concludes with your onward journey (164 miles).
