Rainforest to the Rockies Journey

You'll find no end of sights and attractions within the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver, so be sure to fit in as much as possible. Don't miss Stanley Park, Gastown and Chinatown or head just outside the city to Grouse Mountain for a ride on the Blue Grouse Gondola.

Collect your hire car and set off on what's sure to be the first of many memorable days on this wonderful road trip. On arrival, perhaps head to the hot springs for a soak in the soothing mineral waters or discover the wonderful small-town shops and mouthwatering dining options within the town (81 miles).

Drive eastwards further into British Columbia for the Okanagan Valley, a region of desert, vineyards and mountains (179 miles).

Boasting natural beauty, a rich cultural heritage and a warm welcoming community, Osoyoos is home to Canada's warmest freshwater lake making it a perfect spot for water-based activities and beachside relaxation. The region is also a haven for golfers and renowned for its world-class vineyards ad farm-to-table dining.

Delve deeper into the Okanagan Valley as you head to Kelowna, a four-season playground with sun-kissed vineyards, shimmering lake views, outdoor adventures aplenty, farm-fresh cuisine, arts and culture (76 miles).

A whole host of experiences can be found in this delightful town, from interactive museums, sandy lakeside beaches, hikes to panoramic lookouts, thrilling ziplines and a mouthwatering culinary scene.

Continue driving northwards to charming Revelstoke, which is tucked between the Monashee and Selkirk Mountain Ranges and abounds with natural beauty. It's also located in the world's only inland temperate rainforest and is popular with hikers (123 miles).

Next up is Yoho National Park, which borders Banff National Park and is host to many scenic locations such as picturesque Emerald Lake, stunning Lake O'Hara, Takakkaw Falls (one of the highest in North America), the ancient rock formation of Natural Bridge and the wildlife-rich Yoho Valley (125 miles).

A short drive takes you across the provincial border into Alberta and the town of Banff, hailed as one of the world's most breathtaking mountain destinations and one that definitely delivers on scenery (51 miles).

Superlatives really don't do Banff National Park justice, with its jaw-dropping vistas and pristine wilderness. An abundance of outdoor adventures await those keen to get out and about, scenic drives, wildlife to watch out for and so much more besides. Banff town itself has top-class restaurants, bars and shops along with numerous galleries and museums.

Bid farewell to the glorious mountain surrounds and drive to Calgary airport (90 miles) where your tour concludes as you drop off your car and depart for your onward journey.
