Day 1 Vancouver & Western Canada & British Columbia
Fly to Vancouver. On arrival make your own way to your hotel.
Day 2 Vancouver & Western Canada
Meet your guide this morning and travel by ferry through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver Islands. On arrival, you will visit the famous Butchart Gardens and then visit Sea Cider for a tour and cider tasting. After checking-in at your centrally located hotel in downtown Victoria, the evening is yours to explore at your leisure.
Day 3 Victoria
This morning, look forward to a Victoria City tour which includes Beacon Hill Park, Chinatown, Fan Tan Alley, Fisherman's Wharf and Government Street. This afternoon, you are free to continue exploring independently or perhaps indulge in afternoon tea at the famed Fairmont Empress Hotel (at extra expense).
Day 4 Duncan
Depart early and drive along the Malahat Highway which offers beautiful views over the Southern Gulf Islands. Stop at the Malahat Skywalk where you can stroll along the elevated walkway through the forest which leads to an architecturally-inspiring spiral tower lookout. Travel on to Duncan where you have a brief tour around the City of Totems before travelling on to Tofino.
Day 5 Tofino
Explore Tofino and its magnificent beaches including Long Beach and perhaps join your guide for an optional hike. Later, perhaps embark on an optional guided walk of the Wild Pacific Trail Lighthouse area around Ucluelet for a glimpse of the rugged coastline and sweeping ocean views.
Day 6 Tofino
Today's options include a boat cruise to Hot Springs Cove (at extra expense), relaxing on the beach, kayaking (at extra expense) or, hiking through one of the many rainforest trails. The evening is free to take in the delights of Tofino.
Day 7 Tofino
Travel back towards Vancouver Island's east coast, stopping at Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park where you can walk around the old-growth Douglas Fir rainforest. Continue to Coombs Market where you will find all manner of fresh produce and the best ice cream on the island! You'll then drive through coastal communities and along beautiful landscapes to Comox for dinner (at extra expense) before reaching the peaceful surroundings of Campbell River.
Day 8 Campbell River
Morning at leisure with the option to participate in many different activities including kayaking, fishing and whale watching (all at extra expense). If travelling between mid-August to mid-October, there's also a full day Grizzly Bear Expedition into the Bute or Toba Valley (at extra expense).
Day 9 Campbell River
Visit Elk Falls Provincial Park and explore the extensive network of walking and hiking trails including Elk Falls Suspension Bridge. Stop at Morningstar Farm in Parksville, a local food hub featuring self-guided tours, a farm store and more, before travelling on to Nanaimo. Here you have time to stroll along the harbourfront and perhaps pop into one of the famous Nanaimo Bars. You'll then travel by ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay and arrive back in Vancouver early evening.
Day 10 Vancouver & Western Canada
At leisure to take in some of the city's sights, before making your own way back to the airport for your onward journey.
