Our suggested itinerary is a starting point
We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements
Day 1 Nelson & Marlborough & Kaikoura
Drive through the orchards and vineyards lining the highway as you head to Motueka and Kaiteriteri. Here, board a cruise vessel and travel the length of the golden Abel Tasman coast to Totaranui. On arrival, walk through mature native forest and along secluded beaches to the breathtaking expanse of Awaroa Inlet (approximate walk 4.3 miles).
Day 2 Awaroa
Begin with a scenic walk to Onetahuti, which has a beautiful boardwalk and bridge. Before climbing the low saddle out of Onetahuti, explore Tonga Quarry, then descend to Bark Bay via the waterfall trail, viewing the cascade from a sturdy swing bridge. Later, follow the track as it winds through verdant gullies of mature beech forest, fern grottoes and groves of fragrant manuka framing coastal vistas. Continue to Torrent Bay (approximate walk 12 miles).
Day 3 Torrent Bay
Tides determine whether you walk around the inlet or take the fun short-cut across it to the main track. After lunch at a sheltered beach continue to Marahau, where the track finishes. Here, your driver meets you for the transfer back to Nelson via Kaiteriteri and Motueka (approximate walk 8-10 miles).
