Day 1 Christchurch & South Island
On arrival, transfer by shuttle to your centrally situated hotel and after settling in, why not step out and perhaps take in one of the many Christchurch markets, which brim with artisan food and homemade treats. After dark, you'll find the city centre teems with innovative bars and restaurants, along with micro-breweries where you can sample some of the region's award-winning craft beers.
If wine is your tipple of choice, you're in luck too, as the city is surrounded by the North Canterbury Wine Region, known for its outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Day 2 Christchurch & South Island
You'll find sightseeing a breeze today thanks to the included tram pass and gondola combo ticket. The Christchurch trams offer a unique experience as you travel aboard these beautifully-restored heritage vehicles. There are a total of 18 stops around the city and you can hop on and off as you choose or stay on for the full circuit which takes approximately 50 minutes. Highlights include the Botanic Gardens, Riverside Market, the Arts Centre and Regent Street.
Later, board the gondola and ride to the summit station, where you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city, Lyttleton Harbour, the Pacific Ocean and beyond. At the top also, you can explore walking tracks or enjoy refreshments in the licensed café.
Day 3 Christchurch & South Island
Today's included excursion is a 30 minute punting trip along the picturesque Avon River. Sit back and relax as the informative guide expertly punts you through central Christchurch, with a choice of either floating through the Botanic Gardens from the Antigua Boat Sheds or to see the central city's Avon River Precinct from the Worcester Bridge. The remainder of the day is yours to cram in some more sights, such as the Cardboard Cathedral or the International Antarctic Centre.
Day 4 Christchurch & South Island
At leisure to fit in a few more sights or shop for souvenirs before transferring by shuttle bus to the airport for your onward journey.
