Day 1 Travel by air to Shetland
On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel (not included if opting to travel by sea).
Days 2-3 Shetland
At leisure to explore and experience Shetland as you wish. Highlights include wildlife such as puffins, orcas and seals; exploring well-preserved archaeological sites spanning thousands of years; and taking in dramatic coastal scenery through numerous walks and viewpoints. Alongside this, a strong tradition of music and crafts provides cultural experiences, plus island hopping offers opportunities to delve into different communities.
In addition, Shetland’s larder brims with fresh produce and the archipelago is particularly well-known for its seafood, so be sure to try some. For further sightseeing inspiration, take a look at our selection of pre-bookable excursions.
Day 4 Shetland/Orkney
Make your way to the airport (transfer included) or port for an onward flight or ferry crossing to Orkney. On arrival, transfer independently to your hotel.
Days 5-6 Orkney
Once again, how you sightsee is your choice, although do check out our selection of pre-bookable excursions. Highlights include the 5,000 year old sites in the UNESCO Heart of Neolithic Orkney, there’s breathtaking island surroundings in which to connect with nature and wildlife, or try hopping over to some of the archipelago’s lesser-known islands. Aspects of island life are regularly showcased across a thriving cultural scene plus, the diversity of local food and drink on offer is truly remarkable.
Day 7 Orkney/Mainland UK
Make your own way to the airport for your return journey to the mainland.

3* Lerwick Hotel, Shetland and 3* Ayre Hotel, Orkney in a twin or double room. Solo traveller price based on one person in a single or sole occupancy room (advised at time of booking).
Tour price
The lead-in price shown includes return travel by air from Heathrow (via Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen), 3 nights accommodation in Shetland and 3 nights in Orkney, inter-island ferry crossing as foot passengers and return transfers in Shetland.
