Day 1 Cape Town
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure in this historic city.
Day 2 Cape Town
At leisure to sightsee at your own pace. Perhaps take the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain; stroll around the V&A Waterfront, visit museums such as the District Six or head to Robben Island (advance booking required). There's also Camps Bay, nearby Boulders Beach and, within an hour, you can swap urban vibes for the charming towns of the Winelands.
Day 3 Cape Town
Collect your car and drive to Paternoster, a quaint fishing village along the West Coast. Here, you can often see whales and dolphins frolicking in the ocean (ten months of the year) and, after the first spring rains, the landscape is transformed by millions of indigenous flowers densely carpeting the earth.
Day 4 Cape Town
Area activities include beach buggy trips along the coastline, long beach walks, boat and land based cray-fishing, diving and spear fishing excursions, hiking trails, mountain biking and sea kayaking.
Day 5 Namaqualand
Head further north into Namaqualand, following the Wild Flower Route, where, if weather conditions are favourable, you can see flowering plants from horizon to horizon. Here, Namaqualand daisies and almost 4,000 floral species emerge in spring (July) until around October to give one of the world's greatest flower shows - we suggest stopping at the local tourist information bureau to find out where the best displays are.
You can arguably see wild flowers all over the Namaqualand, West Coast and Olifants River Valley, and towns such as Citrusdal, Lamberts Bay, Nieuwoudtville and Vredendal will not disappoint either. Other points of interest include Springbok's Goegap Nature Reserve, Kamieskroon's Skilpad Wild Flower Reserve, Richtersveld National Park, the Hester Malan Wild Flower Garden and the Namaqua National Park.
Day 6 Clanwilliam
Drive to the popular west coast town of Clanwilliam, a little hamlet at the foot of the Cederberg Mountain range. Regarded as the only town in the world where rooibos is planted and cultivated, it is also famous for veldskoens (leather shoes).
Day 7 Cape Town
Return to Cape Town where the tour concludes for your onward journey.
