Our suggested itinerary is a starting point

We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements

Days 1-3 Cape Town

Fly to Cape Town. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Explore the city at leisure. Perhaps book a Cape Town City Tour for an insight into the magic of the 'Mother City'. Also not to be missed is the cable car ride to the summit of Table Mountain (weather permitting) for far reaching, panoramic views; the country's oldest building, The Castle, and the lively Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, with its shops, restaurants and attractions.

A trip to Robben Island is highly recommended (pre-booking recommended), which is where Nelson Mandela, amongst others, was imprisoned. Alternatively, full day tours are also available to the incredibly scenic Cape Peninsula or Stellenbosch Winelands. If you're happy to simply stay within the city, you'll find a variety of museums, the renowned Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens and many a colourful market to browse for souvenirs.

Days 4-6 Kruger National Park

Transfer to the airport and fly to Hoedspruit. On arrival, you will be transferred to Makalali, a private game reserve in the west of Kruger National Park, which overlooks the majestic Drakensberg mountain range. After time to relax and settle into your suite it's time to grab your binoculars and camera as you set off on your first game drive. Each day you have two game drives in open safari vehicles in the company of an experienced ranger.

The reserve is home to rhino, lion, elephant, hippo, cheetah and buffalo along with leopard, hyena and numerous smaller mammal species and birds. Between the morning and afternoon game drives, refresh with a dip in the large pool, perhaps treat yourself at the spa or, find a spot on the spacious deck that overlooks a waterhole and keep watch for thirsty wildlife.

Day 7 Johannesburg

Enjoy a final morning game drive before transferring to the airport for a flight to Johannesburg.

Days 8-14 Mauritius

A final morning game drive before a transfer to the airport for a flight to Johannesburg. Fly to Mauritius, a spectacular island of white sand beaches, sugar cane fields, sparkling lagoons, verdant forests and volcanic hills. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Relax in bliss for six days. While you may wish for nothing more than to idle the hours away beside the pool or stretch out on the seemingly endless sands, there are activities galore and places to explore further afield.

Watersport enthusiasts can indulge above and below the waves or, if keeping your feet on dry land is more preferable, why not rent a bike, play tennis and golf or totally wind down with time at the spa. Port Louis, the island’s capital, is well worth a visit with its many well preserved historic and colonial buildings, bustling markets and Pamplemousses (or Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam) Botanical Gardens, just outside the city. You may also wish to visit Seven-Coloured Earth Geopark in Chamarel, where an unexpected geological phenomenon gave the earth a unique palette of seven colours.

Day 15

Fully rested and recharged, it's time to transfer to the airport for your onward journey, unless you fancy extending your stay?
