Day 1 Johannesburg & Pretoria
Board The Blue Train this morning and depart Pretoria by midday. After settling into your suite, join fellow guests in the dining car for lunch before settling back for an afternoon to absorb the impressive scenery, indulge in high tea and feast on a memorable dinner.
Day 2 Kimberley
After breakfast, the train reaches Kimberley where you disembark for a visit to Kimberley's Open Mine Museum to learn about the history of diamond mining. You are also taken onto an enclosed ramp on the edge of the Big Hole (the world's largest man-made excavation, hand-dug by prospectors during the diamond rush of the 1870s). Return to the train for lunch and then the afternoon is yours to relax and admire the breathtaking landscapes passing by. High tea is served in the Lounge Car and then it's time once more to dress for dinner.
Day 3 Cape Town
Travel further south this morning and watch the ever-changing panoramas. Head to the Dining Car for lunch and you then have the afternoon to relax further before this memorable journey concludes with arrival in Cape Town at 6pm. This journey is available in reverse.
