Our suggested itinerary is a starting point
We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements
Day 1 Kilimanjaro
Transfer by road from Kilimanjaro to Arusha where you stop for lunch and may spot Maasai tribes people going about their daily life. Continue to spectacular Lake Manyara National Park which lies at the edge of the Great Rift Valley.
Day 2 Lake Manyara
Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, which is perhaps best known for its tree-climbing lions. Other beasts to watch for are elephants, baboons, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and around 400 species of birds, including flocks of flamingos. After lunch, depart for Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's oldest and largest national park.
It is renowned for one of the animal kingdom's most breathtaking annual events, the epic annual migration, when 1.5 million wildebeest and half a million zebra follow a 500 mile route from Tanzania to Kenya and back to Tanzania, culminating in the southern Serengeti.
Day 3 Serengeti National Park
Spend the day game viewing amidst the unequalled beauty of Serengeti National Park. Keep your binoculars at the ready for Africa's iconic Big Five (lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and buffalo), endless herds of wildebeest and zebra, hundreds of bird species and thousands of smaller creatures, such as the ever-charming dung beetle!
Day 4 Serengeti National Park
Morning game drive en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, via the Olduvai Gorge. The vast Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its crater which teems with dense wildlife populations and breathtaking landscapes. Little wonder, that it's judged by many to be a true natural wonder of the world.
Day 5 Ngorongoro
Descend to the crater floor for a half day of game viewing and sightseeing. The wildlife found here includes over 25,000 larger animals, mostly zebra and wildebeest, living within the crater itself. It is also one of the best places to see critically endangered black rhino as well as large prides of lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, warthog, buffalo, eland and antelope. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure, with an option of a guided walking excursion (at extra cost).
Day 6 Ngorongoro
Return to Arusha for a light lunch in Arusha Town before travelling onwards to Moshi, which sits at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 7 Moshi
Return drive to Kilimanjaro where your tour concludes. Perhaps add on a Zanzibar beach?
