Situated in the far east of the Gulf of Thailand near the Cambodian border, Koh Chang is Thailand's second largest island after Phuket yet, until recently remained relatively undiscovered despite the allure of rugged mountains, virgin rainforest, picturesque waterfalls and its many west coast beaches.Klong Prao is the biggest beach on the island and is ideal for those who appreciate tranquil surroundings. Its long sandy beach is uniquely bisected by the river estuary leading up to the famous Klong Plu Waterfall and a channel in the south.
Koh Chang enjoys hot weather all year round, however the best months are considered to be November through to March when you can expect plenty of sunshine and hardly any rain. April to October is the rainy season, however this is often short heavy downpours and you are still likely to see the sun.
