Our suggested itinerary is a starting point
We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements
Day 1
Morning transfer from Chiang Mai airport or hotel to the Bush Camp (approx 2 hours drive). Arrive late morning and after settling in, tuck into a delicious lunch. This afternoon's activities are set around the Bush Camp's Elephant and Mahout Experience with a visit to the 'free-roaming chain-free' Elephant Park, to interact with Asia's largest land animal. There's also time to relax in the Elephant Cafe and observe the animals as they roam peacefully in front of you.
Later, learn all about the life of the mahouts, seeing how they live together with nature and their elephants. Experience traditions as their families pound rice and weave their own clothes before sampling some of their delicious cooking. Enjoy a sundowner on one of the many mountain-top viewpoints which overlook the majestic Ping River, before returning to the camp for dinner.
Day 2 Bush Camp
After breakfast, transfer to the 'free roaming forest' where you get to make paper from elephant dung, sample 'Kafee Boran" and 'kanom krok', a traditional coffee and breakfast snack. See how the elephants are cared for and watch them enjoy their morning wash. Understand more about the work with the elephants at the camp with an insight into good animal husbandry techniques and how veterinary care is administered. Return to Bush Camp for lunch and then transfer to a Chiang Mai hotel or airport.
