Our suggested itinerary is a starting point
We're specialists in tailor-made holidays, where we can adapt each itinerary to suit your requirements
Day 1
Morning transfer from Chiang Mai airport or hotel to the Bush Camp (approx 2 hours drive). Arrive late morning and after settling in, tuck into a delicious lunch. This afternoon's activities are set around the Bush Camp's Elephant and Mahout Experience with a visit to the 'free-roaming chain-free' Elephant Park, to interact with Asia's largest land animal. There's time to relax in the Elephant Café and observe the animals as they roam peacefully in front of you.
Later, learn all about the life of the mahouts, seeing how they live together with nature and their elephants. Experience traditions as their families pound rice and weave their own clothes before sampling some of their cooking. Enjoy a sundowner on one of the many mountain-top viewpoints, which overlook the majestic Ping River, before returning to the camp for dinner.
Day 2 Bush Camp
Morning transfer to the 'free roaming forest' where you learn to make paper from elephant dung, and sample 'Kafee Boran" and 'kanom krok', traditional coffee and breakfast snacks. See how the elephants are cared for and watch as they are washed. Return to Bush Camp for lunch and an afternoon to relax poolside before dinner.
Day 2 Bush Camp
Drive to Elephant Valley to see more free-roaming elephants and gain an insight into good animal husbandry techniques and how veterinary care is administered. After lunch at Bush Camp, your tour concludes with a transfer to your Chiang Mai hotel or airport.
