Spring, between march and May, or autumn, between September and November, are considered the best times to visit with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. Summer is the peak season, so expect lots of people and sweltering temperatures, although if you head to the coast, it’s usually cooler. Winter is far from cold, so definitely a time to consider a visit, although rain is more likely at this time of year.

The flying time from the UK to Los Angeles is about 11 hours. Santa Monica is about 20 minutes drive from central Los Angeles, while Long Beach about 30 minutes drive and both Huntington Beach and Newport Beach around 40 minutes drive.
