Day 1 Johannesburg & Pretoria
Morning departure travelling north through Warmbaths (Bela-Bela), so named for its mineral waters, and Nylstroom, christened by the Voortrekkers as the source of the Nile River. The train then passes the edge of the escarpment where the Highveld steeply drops, crosses the Tropic of Capricorn and the Limpopo River to Beitbridge on the Zimbabwe border.
Day 2 Zimbabwe
After formalities at Beitbridge the next morning, the train travels towards Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second city, capital of Matabeleland and industrial capital. The ever-changing views are interrupted only by lunch, afternoon tea and dinner as the train makes its way to Mpopoma.
Day 3 Hwange National Park
Today, the train travels between Gwaai and Dete along one of the world's longest stretches of straight railway line before traversing the rich and diverse Hwange National Park, where animals can be spotted from the train. Disembark this afternoon, and embark on a thrilling game drive at The Hide Game Lodge.
Day 4
The journey ends when you reach the incomparable Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River.
