Day 1: Depart on a daytime flight from the UK to Sydney.

Day 2 Sydney: On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3 Sydney: Stroll Darling Harbour, visit the Opera House and maybe climb the Harbour Bridge. If time allows, head to Bondi or Manly Beach.

Day 4 Sydney/Cruise: Afternoon transfer to the port to board Celebrity Solstice.

Day 5 Newcastle: Founded in the 19th century by convicts sent to work the coal mines and timber forests, today Newcasle offers stunning surf, a relaxed urban atmosphere and a gateway to Australia’s wine country.

Days 6-7 At sea: Take the time to recharge before the next adventure. Lounge by the pool, be spoiled at the spa or take part in the numerous on-board activities.

Day 8 Airlie Beach: The town itself has lovely seaside markets, galleries with friendly artists and boutiques to browse. It is, however, what lies beyond that is sure to lure you as Airlie Beach is the perfect departure point to view the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living thing on the planet which supports a vast diversity of marine life. The snorkelling and diving here are ,unmatched.

Day 9 Cairns (Yorkey’s Knob): Enjoy a further opportunity to explore the Great Barrier Reef from here. Alternatively, head inland and discover the rainforest by cable car and scenic railway; stop at a wildlife park and hold a koala in your arms; or join a whitewater rafting adventure in Barron Gorge National Park.

Day 10 Willis Island (cruising): The only humans that make their home on this tiny island are meteorologists manning a weather station. From the ship’s deck you’ll see thousands of seabirds such as Boobies, wedge-tailed shearwaters and scooty terns. Other highlights include a nearby coral reef and turtle nesting ground.

Day 11 At sea: Sit back with a good book and while away the day poolside.

Day 12 Brisbane: This lovely city has a thriving art scene, sandy beaches, lively nightlife and multiple wildlife sanctuaries. Go for a swim at South Bank Parklands; browse the galleries of the vibrant Fortitude Valley district; take a ride down to the Gold Coast; or learn all about wildlife and endangered species at Australia Zoo.

Day 13 At sea: Perhaps enjoy a game of croquet at the Lawn Club with new friends as the ship heads towards its final port. This evening, head to the Martini Bar, where you can enjoy a collection of rare vodkas, or Fortunes Casino to play the hottest slots and table games.

Day 14 Cruise/Sydney/Hong Kong: After disembarking in Sydney, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 15 Hong Kong: Take a ride across the harbour on the iconic Star Ferry; head up Victoria Peak aboard the funicular tram; shop for bargains at Stanley Market; or head out to outlying islands.

Day 16 Hong Kong: You will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.

Accommodation: 2 nights before your cruise at the Travelodge Wynyard, Sydney; 10 nights in an inside cabin aboard Celebrity Solstice; 2 nights after your cruise at Harbour Plaza Metropolis, Hong Kong.
