Days 7-8 Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Thailand: A visit to the National Museum is great for history buffs, while shoppers will love the bargains in the Banglamphu district. Don’t miss the gleaming Grand Palace or a whizz along the river on a longtail speedboat.
Day 9 At sea: Head to the solarium for a soak in the thalassotherapy pool, play shuffleboard or sink into the cushioned loungers and curl up with a good book.
Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Vietnam: Stroll the wide boulevards of this dynamic city, formerly known as Saigon. See the Reunification Palace and the Post Office, or take a trip out to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an immense network of connecting tunnels used during the war.
Day 11 At sea: Join one of the lectures, enjoy a movie or simply laze by the pool as the world passes by.
Day 12 Hue/Danang (Chan May), Vietnam: Founded by the Nguyen Dynasty in the 17th century, Hue lies on the banks of the Perfume River and is a massive openair museum of temples, pagodas and palaces. Opt for Danang and you can visit the renowned Cham Museum or enjoy some time on China Beach.
Days 13-14 Hanoi (Halong Bay), Vietnam: Nothing can prepare you for the beauty of Halong Bay and its 2,000 limestone karsts. Just 100 miles away is Hanoi, Vietnam’s captivating capital, where you’ll find a blend of Parisian grace and Asian pace.
