The facts:

Getting there: There are no non-stop flights from the UK to Jakarta, but flights with one stop take around 17 hours. From Apr 16 Garuda Indonesia will offer non-stop flights from London Heathrow to Jakarta which will take approximately 14.5 hours. Flights from Bali to Yogyakarta take 1 hour 15 minutes while flights to Surabaya take 55 minutes.

Best time to travel: While April to October is considered the best time, there is never a bad time to travel to Java, as it’s generally warm throughout the year. Although more rain tends to fall from November to March, it’s usually a short, tropical downpour.
