Day 1: Fly to Tokyo.
Day 2 Tokyo: On arrival make your own way to your hotel in Tokyo.
Day 3 Tokyo(Yokohama)/Cruise: At leisure before making your way to Yokohama port to board the ship.
Day 4 Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan: The ship remains docked until late afternoon so you are free to return to Tokyo to explore. Highlights include the Imperial Palace and Senso-ji, which is Tokyo’s most visited temple.
Day 5 Kobe, Japan: The fifth largest city in Japan, Kobe is the site of hot spring resorts and is also the gateway to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient imperial capital. In Kobe itself, the Kobe Port Tower is an iconic landmark offering amazing views from its upper deck. If heights aren’t your thing, sample the local speciality - teppanyaki-grilled Kobe beef.
Day 6 Osaka, Japan: Visit the iconic Osaka Castle, which although a replica does afford amazing views from the top. Alternatively, head to nearby Kyoto, which is crammed with traditional wooden houses, grand palaces, decorative shrines and glorious gardens.
Day 7 Hiroshima, Japan: This attractive city will forever be remembered for the terrible events of 1945 but despite its tragic past this is not a depressing place to visit. Be sure to visit the Peace Memorial Park and the Cenotaph.
Day 8 Kochi, Japan: Located on the south coast of Shikoku, attractions not to miss include the Kochi Castle and the mountain, Godaisan, from which you can admire fantastic city views.
Day 9 Beppu, Japan: This exotic city lies on the island of Kyushu and is renowned for its healing geothermal waters and spas. Its main attraction is the “Hells of Beppu”, a collection of nine stunning hot springs (onsen), some of which feature geysers and colourful waters.
Day 10 Miyazaki (Aburatsu), Japan: This popular resort gives you the opportunity to surf the waves or swim in the Pacific Ocean. Other attractions include a Miyazakijingu, the Peace Tower, Haniwa Gardens and the nearby beautiful island of Aoshima.
Day 11 Kagoshima, Japan: Often compared to its Italian sister city, Naples, due to a similarly mild climate, streets lined with palm trees and Sakurajima, which is Kagoshima’s version of Vesuvius.
Day 12 Fukuoka, Japan: Visit the Hakata Machiya Folk Museum where you can watch artisans create the famed Hakata-ori cloth used for kimono sashes and sumo loincloths. There are also traditional shrines and temples, the ruins of Fukuoka Castle or shopping in Tenjin district.
Day 13 Busan, South Korea: Sights include Beomeosa Temple, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Bokcheon Museum and Tombs and Tongdosa Temple.
Day 14 Jeju Island, South Korea: This tropical island enchants with its sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. If lazing isn’t your style, there are waterfalls, scuba diving and hiking options which will all keep you busy.
Day 15 Seoul (Incheon), South Korea: This city is a mix of modern skyscrapers, ancient palaces, Buddhist temples and tranquil gardens.
Day 16 At sea: Enjoy the ship’s many amenities.
Day 17 Cruise/Shanghai: Disembark this morning and make your way to your centrally situated hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore or relax.
Day 18 Shanghai: Make your way to the airport for your onward journey.
