Wild Rocket Long Bar, Raffles Chilli Crab

Chilli Crab is one of several Singaporean delicacies, and is not to be missed. This local dish is comprised of soft, sweet crabmeat and a thick tomato sauce, a mouthwatering combination!

Singapore is one of the best foodie destinations in Asia and a reflection of its cultural diversity can be seen in the array of local cuisines on the menu, including Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan. Every taste and budget is catered for right across the island, from unpretentious and affordable local street fare to culinary gems created by Michelin-starred chefs.

In recent years Singapore has become a world-class nightlife hub with a diverse set of options be it a sleek bar for an intimate tête-à-tête; rooftop bars where you can enjoy a bespoke tipple and picturesque views, to big name clubs and a growing array of microbreweries.

So take your taste buds on a culinary adventure and sample some of Singapore’s fabulous food and drink. We have recommended a few of our favourites based on our own experience but there is so much available - we could go as far to say you can’t have a bad experience!

No Signboard Seafood

A popular haunt with locals, No Signboard Seafood (414 Geylang Road) is a great place to experience a taste of delicious chilli crab – and don’t forget to order a batch of their golden, fried mantou to soak up the tasty sauce.

Singapore Hawker

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

Long queues regularly form in front of Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice stall (Maxwell Food Centre). This simple yet delicious dish features tender chicken, fluffy rice and chilli sauce.

Loof

Fans of rooftop bars will appreciate the laidback vibe at Loof (331 North Bridge Road) along with its urban garden and fantastic view of Raffles Hotel. Enjoy carefully crafted bar snacks and wash it all down with vodka-based cocktails like Singapore Sour and Bandung Bloom.

Esquina

Head to Chinatown for a taste of Spain! Esquina serves mainly modern Spanish tapas, by Chef Jason Atherton, in a unique location that is surrounded by post-war colonial buildings.

Wild Rocket

Located at trendy budget hotel Hangout @ Mount Emily, chef Willin Low serves up “Mod Sin” (modern Singaporean) cuisine. Traditional dishes are taken apart and reassembled in delightful ways, including signature dish pesto laksa linguine with king prawns & quail egg.

The Naked Finn

The Naked Finn is a no-frills alfresco grill (41 Malan Road) where you can indulge in Southeast Asian flavoured seafood and bespoke cocktails.

Satay by the Bay

Blue Ginger

Set in an old shophouse, Blue Ginger is the place to visit for Peranakan cuisine - a journey of rediscovery of hearty home-cooked food.

RedDot BrewHouse

RedDot Brewhouse, Singapore’s first locally owned and independent microbrewery is housed in a row of old Chinese shophouses in Boat Quay. Unique craft beers, including Monster Green Lager, are complemented by hearty European cuisine.

2am Dessert Bar

Sitting in one of Singapore’s most popular hang-out spots, Holland Village, this is the perfect setting for a romantic late night dessert. Sink back into the plush daybeds, or sit by the contoured bar to watch your dessert as it is prepared.
