Sossusvlei Desert Adventure

Day 1 Windhoek/Namib Desert: Early afternoon departure from Windhoek as you travel to the Kupferberg Pass. Drive through farm land with hilly landscapes and enjoy the splendid views of fertile valleys. Continue via the scenic and steep Spreetshoogte Pass where you can soak up the view from the top. A further stop is made in the small settlement of Solitaire before you continue to the NamNau Habitat, a private nature reserve, which hosts a variety of desert adapted game like Springbok, ostrich, earth wolf, bat-eared fox and many more.
Day 2 Namib Desert: Early morning departure for Sossusvlei, a fascinating world of ecology and unearthly geography. Travel along the Tsauchab dry riverbed, which has found a way through the dunes until it reaches the vivid white clay saltpan, called Sossusvlei. After a good rainy season, approximately every 7-10 years, the Tsauchab River runs in full flood and fills the Vlei with water, offering sensational scenery with prolific birdlife. The early morning sun offers spectacular pastel colours in the star-shaped dunes. The first stop will be at Dune 45 before continuing to Sossusvlei and the chance to climb one of the dunes. Enjoy a picnic breakfast and afterwards, walk over patches of dunes until you reach the base of the ‘Dead Vlei’, another pan where water once flowed, but all that remains today are the skeletons of trees. Visit the rugged Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge join a guided nature drive to the ‘marble mountain’ or relax on your veranda.
Day 3 Namib Desert/Windhoek: Travel via the Remhoogte Pass or via the Spreetshoogte Pass depending on weather and road cond ly afternoon where the tour ends.
Departures: Daily. Minimum two passengers.
Accommodation: Namib Naukluft Lodge (or similar).
Meals: Half board. Lunch is also included on day 2.
Tour price: The price shown is based on the best value travel dates in low season and includes transfers between Windhoek and the Namib Desert, 3accommodation, sightseeing as outlined and entrance fees. International flights are not included.
