Day 1 Gondwana Eco Camp: Make your way to Gondwana Tented Eco Camp, which is part of the Gondwana Private Game Reserve near Mossel Bay This eco-friendly tented camp is set in a protected valley blanketed in Fynbos and offers a one-of-a-kind conservation tourism experience for individuals, couples or families who want to get more involved in Africa on their safari. After checking-in at the main lodge of Gondwana Game Reserve, you are transferred in a Game Viewer to the Tented Camp site. The camp has just five comfortable twin or king tents set on raised platforms each with a private bathroom and covered deck area. All meals are provided in the camp’s outdoor dining boma or in the main communal tent which includes a kitchen, lounge and dining areas, with a nearby pool and hammock relaxation area also available. A dedicated team of three (two expert field guides and a chef) look after up to ten guests for an incredibly intimate and exclusive experience.
Days 2-3 Gondwana Eco Camp: The itinerary on each day will vary but a typical day includes wildlife activities such as monitoring of leopard cameras or the ecological impact of keystone species such as elephant, lion, buffalo and giraffe, behavioural analysis and bird identification as well as wildlife husbandry and care of rare species including rhino. You’ll also spend time at the conservation project site undertaking water assessments or wattle clearing, gain an understanding of veld management and, depending on the season, could be involved in the translocation and veterinary care of wildlife. In addition, there is a daily game monitoring drive and the chance to learn bush skills.
Day 4 Gondwana Eco Camp: All too soon, this wonderful experience concludes with a morning departure, but is sure to live long in the memory.
