Duration: 3 nights escorted tour
Price from: £2299pp
Day 1 Entebbe: On arrival at Entebbe you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Entebbe/Bwindi: Return to the airport for your flight and onward road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This biodiverse, mountainous area in south west Uganda has around 400 mountain gorillas, approximately half of those remaining in the world, who feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the park’s many tree and fern species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered gorilla families. Upon arrival at your hotel, you have time to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s early start and gorilla trek. Alternatively, join an optional guided forest walk for an introduction to Uganda’s unique flora and fauna (additinal expense).
Day 3 Bwindi: A very early start for your gorilla trekking. The trek with an experienced ranger will take between 2-8 hours in steep, and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be tough and requires a degree of (average) fitness. Your trek is rewarded with the thrill of coming face to face with these gentle giants. Upon sighting the gorillas, you spend an hour with them as they go about their daily life: feeding, moving, playing, raising their young and sometimes wrestling with the juveniles, it’s a totally unique and unforgettable experience!
Day 4 Bwindi/Entebbe: Morning flight back to Entebbe during which you can enjoy the beautiful aerial view of south western Uganda, with its hills and thick vegetation along with farmland. Your tour concludes with your onward journey.
Accommodation: 4* Boma Guest House, Entebbe; 4* Mahogany Springs, Bwindi.
Meals: Breakfast in Entebbe; full board in Bwindi.
Tour price: The price shown is based on the best value travel dates in low season and includes airport transfers, domestic flights, transport to/from the starting point for gorilla tracking, accommodation and gorilla trekking experience with an English speaking guide and gorilla permit.
