Day 1: Fly to Shanghai.

Day 2 Shanghai: On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, so you may wish to take a stroll along The Bund, which stretches for one mile along the Huangpu River.

Day 3 Shanghai/Cruise: Enjoy time to sightsee or relax before you transfer to the port to board Sapphire Princess. Day 4 At sea: For those keen to stay busy or active there are numerous classes, experiences and sports facilities, while for those who prefer to lounge around, there's ample deck space and three inviting pools.

Day 5 Nagasaki, Japan: Often described as the San Francisco of Japan, the city occupies verdant hills surrounded by a deep-water bay. While many visitors are drawn to Nagasaki's Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, this beautiful city has many other sights including Glover Garden, Dejima and Shimbara Castle.

Day 6 Busan, South Korea: Busan is your gateway to a fascinating land whose culture is a unique amalgam of old and new. Sights not to miss include Beomeosa Temple, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Bokcheon Museum and Tombs, Ja-Gai-Ch'i Fish Market and Tongdosa Temple. Days 7-8 At sea: Sporting pursuits are available to those who don't like to sit around, but for those that do, padded loungers invite you to unwind beside the pool or hot tub.

Day 9 Hong Kong: Skyscrapers form a glistening forests of steel and glass, junks and sampans ply the busy waters, while the narrow streets are crammed with vendors. Visit fabled Stanley Market, take a ride on the Star Ferry or board the funicular railway to Victoria Peak where panoramic views await you.

Days 10-11 At sea: Why not treat yourself at the spa, visit the art gallery, take part in a class or laze poolside.

Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Vietnam: Formerly known as Saigon, the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City is filled with the cries of street hawkers, honking horns and friendly faces. City attractions include Notre Dame Cathedral and Cholon (Chinatown), while nearby is the fascinating Mekong Delta with its floating markets and the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels, which were used as hideouts by the Vietnamese army during the Vietnam War.

Day 13 At sea: Perhaps head to the library where you'll find a wide selection, from classics to today's best sellers. Day 14 Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Thailand: Famous landmarks in the Thai capital include the glittering Grand Palace, which is the former royal residence, and Wat Po where you can admire the Reclining Buddha. A cruise by long-tailed speedboat along the Chao Phraya River is also highly recommended.

Day 15 Koh Samui, Thailand: This idyllic island charms visitors with its powdery white beaches and crystalline waters. Additional island attractions include Buddhist temples and the glistening Na Muang Waterfall.

Day 16 At sea: A final full day at sea to indulge in the many wonderful facilities on board.

Day 17 Singapore: All too soon your voyage comes to an end with a morning arrival in Singapore. After disembarking, you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore. Options include bustling Chinatown, viewing the skyline from the Singapore Flyer and the shops of Orchard Road.

Day 18 Singapore: Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Alternatively, why not extend your stay?

Accommodation: 1 night before your cruise at Sofitel Hyland, Shanghai; 14nights in an interior stateroom aboard Sapphire Princess and 1 night after your cruise at Park Hotel Clarke Quay, Singapore.
