Hiroshima 2 nights
Day 1 Kyoto/Hiroshima: Travel for two hours by Shinkansen bullet train from Kyoto to Hiroshima and on arrival walk the short distance to your hotel. The city will forever be known for events back in 1945; however, today vibrant Hiroshima is full of wide boulevards, friendly people, great food and a wonderful laid-back ambience.
Day 2 Hiroshima: A full day to explore independently. A must see is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, built to honour the victims of the atomic bomb, which has many memorials, monuments, statues and a museum. Another highlight is the rebuilt Hiroshima Castle, or we also recommend taking a short tram and ferry ride to Miyajima Island where you'll find the 6th century floating Torii Gate. Whilst on the island you may wish to hike (or take the cable car) up to the peak of Mt Misen for spectacular views of the surrounding islands.
Day 3 Hiroshima/Kyoto: Return by bullet train to Kyoto where your tour concludes.
