Day 1 KL/Taman Negara National Park: Drive for about three hours via the scenic Genting Sempah Mountain Pass, stopping for lunch at the rural town of Jerantut. Leaving the riverbank at Kuala Tembeling you'll travel up river on a fascinating boat journey to Kuala Than where you arrive late afternoon. After dinner, you have the option to join the jungle night walk.
Day 2 Taman Negara: Subject to weather conditions, join a guided walk through the rainforest to the world’s longest Canopy Walk. Proceed on a trek through the jungle to Teresik Hill, from where you can view Mount Tahan, the highest mountain in Peninsula Malaysia. During the trek, your guide will explain the basics of jungle survival, jungle ecology and point out any flora you see along the way. The return trek takes a different trail passing Lubok Simpon waterhole, where you can take a refreshing dip. This evening, you can join the animal ‘vigil’ at the tree house. However, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Day 3 Taman Negara/Cameron Highlands: After breakfast, travel by ferry to the town of Kuala Tahan and continue by road to the Cameron Highlands, one of the wonders of Malaysia.
Day 4 Cameron Highlands: This morning, visit fruit and vegetable farms, a flower garden, Sam Poh Temple and a tea plantation, where you’ll learn about the tea making process. Be sure to try the Cameron Highlands tea - a cross between Earl Grey, Camomile and breakfast tea. The rest of the day is yours to explore. For a taste of home, why not indulge with afternoon tea on the terrace of The Lakehouse, perhaps enjoy a round of golf, visit one of the townships to browse the shops, or simply admire the surroundings and be rejuvenated by the fresh, cool air.
Day 5 Cameron Highlands/KL or Penang: Enjoy the breathtaking scenery before your return journey to KL or Penang.
Departures: Daily from Kuala Lumpur. Minimum 2 passengers.
Accommodation: 3* Mutiara Resort, Taman Negara; 4* The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands.
Tour price: The price shown is based on the best value travel dates in low season and includes transfers from KL, onward boat travel to Taman Negara, transfers between Taman Negara and Cameron Highlands and onwards to KL or Penang, accommodation as shown including breakfast and sightseeing as outlined.
A visit to Taman Negara or the Cameron Highlands is not recommended for the less mobile, Taman Negara is also not recommended during the monsoon season, 15 November-15 January. We recommend for Cameron Highlands that you stay midweek and avoid public holidays to ensure a more relaxing experience.
