Elephant Hills Jungle Safari
Duration: 1 night wildlife experience tour
Price from: £325pp
Day 1 Phuket/Khao Sok: Early morning transfer from your hotel or Phuket airport (a supplement applies for later flights/transfers). On arrival you will have lunch before a guided canoe trip along the Sok River passing limestone mountains and cliffs while watching out for local wildlife. Sit back and soak up the scenery as you drift along the jungle river whilst birds fly overhead and reptiles bask on the riverbank. You will then have a chance to interact with the elephants, prepare and feed them their daily meals before scrubbing them clean and watching them bathe. Back at the camp take time to relax, perhaps enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, before a delicious dinner.
Day 2 Khao Sok/Phuket: Wake to the sound of nature as the sun rises and clears the mist over the mountains. This morning, explore the jungle on foot with your guide who will point out the great variety of exotic plants and tropical hardwood trees, palms and ferns. Birds such as the hornbill live high above, butterflies flap around and whooping gibbons can often be heard. Enjoy an early lunch in the rainforest (weather permitting) before returning to the camp and onward departure back to your hotel or Phuket airport. Alternatively, why not extend your stay and enjoy two nights at the Elephant Camp?
Departures: Daily from Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, Surat Thani or Koh Samui.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner - all buffet style offering both Thai and western cuisine. Specific dietary requirements can be catered for.
Tour price: The prices shown for these escorted tours are based on the best value travel dates in low season and include return shared transfers from Phuket or Khao Lak hotels or Phuket airport (must be on flight arriving before 9am), accommodation and activities as outlined in each itinerary.
Note: Not recommended for the less mobile. The jungle trek at the Rainforest Camp will suit some and be more difficult for others as the terrain can be unpredictable. The order of activities can change depending on the day, transfer times and the weather. Children from 4 years old are permitted at Elephant Hills Elephant Camp and from 7 years at Rainforest Camp.
