Day 1 Bangkok River Kwai: Early departure to Kanchanaburi province (approx 2 hours 30 minutes). Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre Museum and moving war cemetery of the Allied prisoners of World War II who died building the railway. Continue to the world-famous Bridge over the River Kwai then travel an hour by road and longtailed boat on the River Kwai to your hotel. After lunch travel upstream by boat tovisit the nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village, whose people lead a simple way of life.
Day 2 River Kwai/Bangkok: Return downstream by boat and onwards by road to the Hellfire Pass Memorial. After lunch at a local restaurant take a ride on the Death Railway train passing over the original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs. Afternoon departure for Bangkok (approx 3 hours).
Extend to the two night tour for time to relax or enjoy trekking into the abundant forest. All our River Kwai hotels are also available independently of the tour.
Departures: Daily from Bangkok for a minimum of two passengers.
