Phan Thiet Holidays

Hugging the south eastern coastline of Vietnam, the idyllic resorts of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are perfect for exploration, recreation and relaxation with their unspoilt beaches, quaint fishing villages and stunning sand dunes, while the gorgeous Con Dao archipelago is one of Vietnam's star attractions thanks to its outstanding natural beauty.

Teeming with boats, the bustling fishing port of Phan Thiet is the gateway to the beautiful Mui Ne Peninsula, which stretches out into the South China Sea and is renowned for its small villages, tropical forest, beautiful pagodas and Sahara-like sand dunes.

Phan Thiet's best stretch of sands are those at Mui Ne, a former fishing community that has become one of Vietnam's fastest-growing beach destinations. The beach is lined by upscale resorts along with a variety of restaurants and bars, while at the far eastern end of the bay is the actual village and harbour of Mui Ne where fishing boats cluster in their hundreds. The resort is also fast emerging as a kite-surfing and windsurfing hub, thanks to the consistent onshore winds, and there's also an 18-hole golf course designed by Nick Faldo.

The spectacular red and white sand dunes lie at the end of the peninsula with commanding views down the coast. The larger white sand dunes are very impressive thanks to the oceanic winds sculpting the sands into wonderful formations while the reddish-brown red dunes are smaller. Sand-sledding is a popular activity at both, while quad bikes and dune buggies are also available at the white dunes.

The delightfully remote Con Dao archipelago is a cluster of fifteen emerald-green islands situated in the South China Sea. It became a national park in 1993 and subsequently the park was expanded into the surrounding waters, and due to this protective status the area is popular with divers keen to explore the coral reefs. The largest island in the group, Con Son is still largely untouched by tourism, with miles of undisturbed beaches, wild jungle and colonial buildings from its time as a penal colony. Wildlife is also a feature of the islands, particularly between June and September when turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.
