Day 1: Fly to Singapore.
Day 2 Singapore: On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure. Visit bustling Chinatown or or enjoy a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel.
Day 3 Singapore/Cruise: At leisure before you are transferred to the port where you board ms Westerdam.
Day 4 At sea: Familiarise yourself with all the wonderful facilities on board. Later, stop for a drink at the Explorer’s Lounge and perhaps try your luck at the casino.
Day 5 Koh Samui, Thailand: This picture-perfect island provides a surf-and-sand playground for snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking and simply lounging. By contrast, the island’s interior features dense, hilly jungles for hikes to ancient temples, pristine waterfalls and quaint villages.
Days 6-7 Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Thailand: In the Thai capital Buddhist temples and gilded palaces coexist with the bustle of a major Asian metropolis. Visit one of the fascinating markets; see the magnificent Grand Palace; enjoy an exhilarating tuk-tuk ride or hop aboard a longtailed speedboat for a cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Nearby sights include Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with impressive Buddhist ruins.
Day 8 Sihanoukville, Cambodia: This provincial port is home to some of Cambodia’s most glorious coastline. Take a guided snorkelling trip, kayak through mangrove forests, hike through a national park or explore local temples.
Day 9 At sea: Laze by the pool or perhaps challenge fellow travellers to a game of basketball or volleyball.
Day 10 Phu My, Vietnam: The real draw of Phu My is actually 50 miles away in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. A fascinating mix of old and new as French-colonial architecture vies for attention with glistening skyscrapers; sleek malls sit alongside local markets; and glamorous fine-dining resta just around the corner from street-food stalls.
Day 11 Nha Trang, Vietnam: While away the day soaking up the sun, sand and sea on the picturesque beach. If that’s not for you, the city has worthy historic sites including Buddhist temples, a French Gothic-style cathedral and Po Nagar Cham Towers.
Day 12 At sea: Attend an engaging lecture or learn new culinary skills at a cooking show.
Days 13-14 Danang, Vietnam: Located halfway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Danang has a small-town charm and is a popular destination for watersports. It’s also a great launchpad for day trips,whether to the pretty city of Hoi An in the south, the old imperial capital of Hue in the north, or the majestic Marble Mountains to the south west.
Day 15 Halong Bay, Vietnam: This vast bay is scattered with over 3,000 limestone islets and cliffs, almost all of them uninhabited. Rocky outcrops jut dramatically from the emerald waters creating a surreal yet enchanting vista. Several islands boast grottos and caves while the waters also host coral reefs, freshwater swamp forests, mangroves, small lakes and beaches.
Day 16 At sea: Spoil yourself with a massage or other treats at the Greenhouse Spa & Salon or take a class in the professionally-staffed fitness centre.
Day 17 Hong Kong: After disembarking and transferring to your hotel the rest of the day is at leisure. Head up to Victoria Peak by funicular tream for breathtaking harbour views, take a ride on the iconic Star Ferry or enjoy a feast of traditional dim sum.
Day 18 Hong Kong: Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Alternatively, why not extend your stay?
