Day 1: Fly to Hanoi.
Day 2 Hanoi: On arrival you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel. Join the rest of your group for an evening of Vietnamese cuisine together.
Day 3 Hanoi: Join a walking tour of Hanoi’s most iconic sights before an afternoon cyclo tour through the Old Quarter which concludes at the home of a family who produce traditional papier-mache masks. This evening feast on street food as you tour the stalls and sample some of the local delicacies.
Day 4 Hanoi/Ninh Binh: Travel to the beautiful Ninh Binh Province and en route take a short boat trip at Tam Coc. After stopping at the 14th century Thai Vi Temple, move on to a local family home where you’ll tuck into a traditional lunch. Continue to your hotel for time at leisure.
Day 5 Ninh Binh/Halong Bay: This morning, travel to Halong Bay where you board a traditional junk boat for an overnight cruise. Explore some of the area’s famous limestone islets and fascinating grottoes before dinner onboard and an evening spent reclining on a comfy chair, sipping wine or watching the stars.
Day 6 Halong Bay/Hoi An: After breakfast on board, stop at Ti Top Island where you can relax on the beach, take a dip in the water or climb to the top of the hill for fantastic views. Cruise back to Halong City where you’ll disembark and catch a flight to Hoi An, stopping enroute at Danang.
Day 7 Hoi An: This morning, get acquainted with Hoi An’s Old Tour during a guided tour. Tonight, hit the streets to sample some of the local fare before settling down to an alfresco Vietnamese dining experience.
Day 8 Hoi An/Hue: Channel your inner creativity with a silk lantern making workshop. Later, visit the Cham Museum, before continuing to Hue.
Day 9 Hue: At leisure before a boat trip on the Perfume River, a perfect vantage point from which to take in the temples, mausoleums and pagodas lining its banks. Visit the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang before dining at the charming Tha Om Garden House restaurant.
Day 10 Hue/Ho Chi Minh City: Transfer to the airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll end the day with a culinary feast of contemporary Vietnamese cuisine.
Day 11 Ho Chi Minh City: Start with a Chinatown tour, which includes Cha Tam Church and vibrant Chua Ong Pagoda. Visit a family that sells traditional herbal medicines and then move on to the Reunification Palace. Later, enjoy a cooking demonstration and delicious lunch at Mandarine Restaurant. The rest of the afternoon is yours to sightsee or relax as you wish.
Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City: Set off on a journey to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a strategic operation base during the Vietnam War. Later, there’s a street eats tour, during which you can sample delicacies like rice paper pizza. This evening, gather with your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.
Day 13 Ho Chi Minh City: At leisure before transferring by private car to the airport for your onward journey.
