Halong Bay 1 night
Day 1 Hanoi/Halong Bay: Drive from Hanoi to board your boutique junk (approx 4 hours). Enjoy lunch as you set sail into the bay, where thousands of limestone islands rise from the waves. After lunch, travel by tender to the vast Tien Ong Cave, formed about 700,000 years ago. Cruise onwards to Cua Van fishing village, which can be explored by kayak (additional expense), the biggest and oldest in Halong Bay, which is comprised of floating houses and schools. Return to the boat late afternoon. Enjoy a cooking class while cruising slowly with the evening sun before dinner and the chance to sit back with a glass of wine to drink in the bay's surreal beauty.
Day 2 Halong Bay/Hanoi: Greet the day with a Tai Chi class as the sun rises over the bay. Then travel by tender to a natural stretch of white sandy beach with crystal clear water for a swim or take a trip up Ti Top Island Mountain, for great views. Return to the boat and cruise slowly back to Halong City, passing picturesque areas like Tam Cung Cave and Poem Mountain. Disembark after breakfast around 9.30am and transfer by road to Hanoi (approx 4 hours).

The ship: Jasmine Junk is a custom built (55 metre long) wooden junk boasting 1930s Indochine style, with four decks and 23 cabins.
