Day 1 Sydney/Hunter Valley: Make your way to Sydney Central Station for an 0929 departure for the three hour journey by rail to the Hunter Valley. Sit back and admire the passing scenery as the train travels through Hawkesbury and the Central Coast before reaching the Hunter Valley.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Hunter Valley Resort where you have time to relax and settle in. Later, visit the Hunter Wine Theatre for an insight to winemaking through a short 15 minute visual presentation. Afterwards, spend a further 15 minutes with the Cellar master on a wine tutorial, where you are taken on a learning experience with a bracket of four wines. You are taught how to taste front palate sweetness, acidity and back palate tannins, and most importantly, exercising your nose to appreciate the bouquet of wine.
The remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax, explore or enjoy the facilities of the resort as you choose. Options include hiring a bike to visit local wineries, joining a segway tour, visiting the Brewery, horse riding, tennis, swimming, taking a carriage ride and much, much more. This evening you are free to dine where you choose, be it at the resort restaurant or whether you head further afield you will find no end of options for every pocket and palate.
Day 2 Hunter Valley/Sydney: After breakfast, there is further free time to try out further activities or visit more wineries. At midday, you will be transferred to Singleton Railway station for the 1324 train departure back to Sydney where the tour concludes.
Accommodation: Hunter Valley Resort in a Hunter room.
