Day 1 Darwin/Kakadu National Park: Collect your hire car and make your way to Kakadu National Park, a scenic place of unspoiled landscapes where wildlife thrives, waterfalls cascade down rugged escarpments and exotic birdlife flies overhead. It's also a land where ancient indigenous culture lives on into the present, and their stories can be seen through the art painted on the rock walls.
Day 2 Kakadu National Park: Included today is the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise, a unique boat tour along Kakadu's spectacular East Alligator River. Sit back and take in the wonderful pristine wilderness while an Aboriginal guide provides an insight into their culture - keeping your eyes peeled for crocodiles basking in the sun. Disembark on the Arnhem Land side of the river and be treated to a display of traditional hunting and gathering before heading back down stream. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this incredible region independently. Sights include Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls Gorge, or perhaps explore the incredible rock art galleries at Ubirr and Nourlangie.
Day 3 Kakadu National Park/Katherine: Travel along the Kakadu Highway and then the Stuart Highway towards Katherine, often described as "the place where the outback meets the tro may wish to stop at Leliyn (Edith Falls).
Day 4 Katherine: Make your way to the Nitmiluk National Park boat jetty to join the Nit Nit Dreaming Two Gorge Cultural Cruise. In the company of an experienced guide, this two hour journey of discovery takes you through the magnificent Nitmiluk Gorge and gives an insight to the cultural significance of the gorge to the traditional landowners - the Jawoyn people. You'll then walk between the gorges along a man-made uneven path to change boats and continue your voyage. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to relax or explore independently. You can canoe, cruise and swim between sheer cliffs to the sandy freshwater beaches of the main gorges, and view ancient Aboriginal rock paintings high on the rock faces. Alternatively, take a dip in the relaxing hot springs near Katherine Township or follow one of the many walking trails for a dip in one of the many rock pools or waterfalls.
Day 5 Katherine/Darwin: Your tour concludes in Darwin. Or perhaps extend your stay?

Meals: Room only in Kakadu, continental breakfast in Katherine.
