Day 7 Lakes Entrance: Boasting Australia’s largest inland network of waterways, Lakes Entrance is on the edge of Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meet the Southern Ocean. Enjoy the pristine beach, kayak on a lake and perhaps feast on the area’s renowned seafood.
Day 8 Lakes Entrance/Phillip Island: Travel west through Victoria to Phillip Island. Ensure you arrive in time to see the comical nightly parade of Little Penguins as they march up the sand to their nesting places (approx 4 hours).

Day 10 Melbourne: Vibrant Melbourne has a tangle of hidden laneways to delve into, tree-lined promenades, fantastic sporting arenas, diverse galleries, chic cafes, shops and more.
Day 11 Melbourne/Ballarat: Travel along the Western Freeway to the handsome former gold rush city of Ballarat. Discover its impressive heritage architecture and try your hand at panning for gold (approx 1½ hours).
